Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation
- Our "gold standard" evaluation, designed to provide an overall picture of an individual's neurocognitive functioning, identify strengths and weaknesses, provide diagnostic clarification, and give recommendations as to how to remedy identified problems.
- Includes neuropsychological assessment, educational/academic assessment, and emotional assessment (MMPI) when appropriate.
- Child and adolescent appointments are conducted in two separate sessions lasting between three to five hours each.
- Adult appointments (ages 19+) are conducted in one session lasting up to six hours.
Medical-Only Neuropsychological Evaluation
- Does not include educational/academic assessment portion.
- All appointments are conducted in one session lasting up to six hours.
Accommodations Testing
- Includes neuropsychological assessment (tests brain functions) and educational/academic assessment (tests for learning disabilities).
Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)
- IEEs are evaluations funded by public school districts.
- A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation is selected in most cases.
School Admissions Testing
- Evaluation designed to measure intellectual functioning for admissions into a private academic institution or another similar purpose.

What is the best way to request an appointment?
The best way to start the appointment scheduling process is to complete our appointment request form through this website. You can also call us during our phone hours to talk directly to an intake specialist.

Do I need a referral?
We do not require a doctor's referral, but your insurance company may (if you plan on submitting a claim for reimbursement). If you do have a referral, please have the referring physician fax it to us at 703-573-3574. You will also be able to upload it to our online patient portal following scheduling, but please have it handy before the initial intake.

How soon are appointments available?
We are currently scheduling about two months out. There is always a chance that you can be seen earlier if there are cancellations that open up slots on our schedule. We keep a waiting list for this specific purpose.

Do you require a reservation deposit?
Yes. Except for Medicare patients, we require a reservation deposit in the amount of $300 at the time you make an appointment in order to hold your spot on our calendar. This $300 will be credited towards your overall cost.

Scheduling a neuropsychological evaluation is a more complex process compared to most appointments, so we appreciate as much advance notice as possible if you need to cancel your appointment. Our current cancellation policy requires advance notice of at least two business days. The $300 reservation deposit collected upon scheduling becomes non-refundable if a cancellation is not made within two business days of a scheduled appointment.
